Lucas has actually been smiling in response to people since he was 8 days old! It's NOT "just gas" or an "underdeveloped nervous system" when it is in response to someone talking to him! These days he smiles more and more and has been making lots of new sounds, trying out his voice. Unfortunately, it is extremely challenging to get a picture of a smile, since we never know when one is coming. This picture is the first real smile we were able to catch on film, actually on my cell phone - more forthcoming as we can catch them!!!
